"Raja radiate and raja erinata" species, of the ray family and commonly known as winter skate, come from both local dayboat draggers and gillnet vessels and are a year-round fishery on the Eastern seaboard of the United States. Seatrade exports app. 1,750 mt of skatewings per year as fresh skin on as well as skinless trimmed IWP frozen product. With a total annual catch of 4,000 mt, the resource is regulated under the groundfish DAS (Days at Sea) allowance.
